Was in a car accident today.
Nothing major, thank God. Basically coming out of a car park in Teesside Park I decided I would go to Borders. This would involve me needing to go right at the roundabout, which required me to be in the right hand lane. This meant crossing two lanes of traffic. I looked, was let out by one guy and didn't see anything else in the other lane.
Unfortunately there was and I clipped the back of another car...which had three other people and a baby in it.
I shit myself...honestly I panicked, but I pulled up, sat back and called my mum. Then I got out and checked that everyone was OK and handed over my information.
It's gonna cost me £450 for the insurance excess, since it was my fault essentially. I shouldn't have attempted to cross two lanes of traffic and I should have double checked. Thankfully the guy I clipped was OK with everything and didn't yell. Just gave me his info. In the grand scheme of things £450 is a small price to pay for everyone being alright. Especially the baby, and I have the money.
Was quite shook up about it though. Thankfully the damage to the car is minor. Basically a dent and the plastic light cover got smacked, but the light itself is fine.
An expensive lesson, but definatly one I'll be paying heed to.
